Olympic Qualification Tournament. Hungary wins, Greece third and first reserve

Last day of the women's water polo pre-Olympic tournament at the federal centre in Trieste. Hungary and Holland qualified for the Olympics on Saturday, defeating Italy and Greece respectively in the semi-finals.
In the final for the first place, the Magyars beat the Dutch 13-11; in the final for the third place, the Hellenic team beat the Italian team 10-4, becoming the first reserve team for the Games.
Final for seventh place. Eighth was Israel, who beat Slovakia 13-10. The winning break for the Israelis in the fourth half with successive goals by Bogachenko and Tal, which brought the score to 11-9 and extinguished the Slovakian team's chances of a comeback.
Final for fifth place. Fifth is France who beat Kazakhstan 12-10. The Kazakhs, always behind in the score, clung to the match until 10-9 in the middle of the fourth period; then the decisive acceleration of the transalpine team with Guillet's double that made it 12-9.
Final for third place. Greece beat Italy and becomes the first reserve for the Olympic Games in which he will participate in the event of a waiver. Deserved victory for Greece, always ahead in the score and 4-2 at halftime. The decisive break for the Greeks at the end of the third period: Italy came back to -2 (5-3) with Garibotti; but Lorantos' team went in goals with Tsoukala and two times with Elefhteria Plevritou. In the last period, both sides lost energy: Elefhteriadou replied to Garibotti (9-4). Tsoukala's goal ninety seconds before the end made it 10-4.
Final for first place. Hungary won the pre-Olympic tournament, beating the Netherlands in the final. The teams were tired, but the match was exciting. In the second half the Hungarians led 6-4, the Dutch balanced the score with goals by Sleeking and Van de Kraats for 6-6 at the beginning of the third period. Then the Hungarians broke away with goals by Garda, Keszthelyi and two by Rybanska that brought the score to 10-6. The Orange came back three times on -2 (10-8, 11-9 and 12-10), but Leimeter's goal of 13-10 at one hundred seconds to the end decided the match. In the last minute Keuning scored the final goal of 13-11.
