Elena Gemo (Forestale / CC Aniene) establishes the Italian record in 50m-backstroke with 28"07 in A Final at the 52nd Edition of Trofeo Settecolli Clear/International Swimming competition occurring in Rome. The 28-years-old Padoan, now Roman, swimmer trained by Mirko Nozzolilo, improves the time of 28"27 swum on 29th July 2009 at the World Championships in Rome, in the same pool, with her “gum” swimsuit. The previous record (28"31), reached in the 2008 Trofeo Settecolli Edition, was held by the Australian Emily Seebohm. 
Her best time with tissue swimsuit is 28"44 reached at the semifinal at the European Championships in Berlin occurred the last 22nd August. 
The best Italian performance with tissue was the time of 28"30 swum three times by Arianna Barbieri between the European Championships in Debrecen 2012 and Berlin. 
The time of Elena Gemo is under the limit A of 28"1 required by the Federnuoto for the qualification to the next World Championships in Kazan, reached at the Absolute Spring Championships Unipol in Riccione last April. This is the eighth world seasonal and the third European performance.

Record of the competition is also reached by the 24-years-old French Olympic champion Florent Manaudou in 50m-freestyle with 21"64, at seven hundredths to the best seasonal world time swum at the French Championships in Limoges and 16 hundredths under his time swum at the Edition 2013, the old record of Settecolli. At the Games in London, he reached 21"34, while last December at the Doha World Championships in short course, he won with 20"26 at the speed of 8,8 Km/h, becoming the fastest man in the history of swimming.
