Protagonist of the third and last day of 52nd Trofeo Settecolli/Clear International Swimming competition is still Sarah Sjoestroem who, after the European record reached in 100m-butterfly on Friday with 56"04 and in 100m-freestyle on Saturday with 53", breaks other two records of the Championships: the first with 25''23 in 50m-butterfly, already swum during the season, with 24"63 – ahead the Dutch Inge Dekker with 25''68 and Elena Gemo with 26''04, at 24 hundredths behind the personal record swum at European Championships in Berlin last year – the second one in 200m-freestyle with 1'55''05, already swum during the season with 1'54"77, ahead the great Federica Pellegrini, ranking second with 1'56''06 (five hundredths more than the time reached in Berlin winning the European gold last August) and ahead Alice Mizzau who ranked third with 1'59''52.
It is the moment also for Elena Gemo (Forestale / CC Aniene) who established two Italian records: in 100m-backstroke on Saturday and in 50m-backstroke on the opening day.
Waiting the World Championships in Kazan, Gregorio Paltrinieri gives us good feelings. He wins the 1500m-freestyle final with 15'00''60, showing his usual focus. The Hungarian Boglarka Kapas wins the 800m-freestyle final with 8'23''71; Erica Musso ranked second with 8'28''70 and establishes her best performance and her best seasonal national time, decreasing her personal time of ten seconds; Diletta Carli ranked third with 8'30''44 reaching her personal record.
Luca Mencarini (CC Aniene) wins the 100m-backstroke, with 1'57''83, his fourth time swum during his carrier and at just 38/100 to his personal. Behind Mencarini, Christopher Ciccarese (Fiamme Oro / CC Aniene) with 1'58''27 and Peter Bernek (Hun) with 1'58''56.
The female 100m-backstroke is won by the Azzurra Margherita Panziera with 2'10''93. The Ukrainian Andrey Govorov wins with 23''44 in 50m-butterfly, ahead Piero Codia (Esercito / CC Aniene) with 23''55 (time never swum by him in this phase of the season) and the Hungarian Francois Heersbrandt with 23''72.
In 200m-breaststroke won by the Lithuanian Giedrius Titenis with 2'10''32, great second rank of Luca Pizzini with 2'10''79, time that could be valid for the World Championships in Kazan, where his aim is the qualification in final.
The Turkish Victoria Gunes wins the 200m-breaststroke reaching the time of 2'24''18; the Canadian Martha Mc Cabe ranked second with 2'25''15 and Ilaria Scarcella third with 2'25''52, her best time with tissue swimsuit.
The French Mehdy Metella wins the 100m-freestyle final with 48"60; Luca Dotto ranked fifth with 49"61 and Marco Orsi seventh with 49"78. The 200m-medley is won by the Brazilian Henrique Rodrigues with 1'59''50 and by the Hungarian Zsuzsanna Jakabos with 2'12"65. Also a male 100m-freestyle heat of FINP Paralympic athletes occurred during the afternoon session.
