The 54th edition of Trofeo Settecolli, taking place at the Stadio del Nuoto in Rome from 23rd to 25th June, is one of the last test check at about one month to World Championships in Budapest (25-30); for several athletes it represents the last opportunity to get the pass to the Championships, with the same Italian team having some empty holes to fill.
The aims of the main Italian swimming event are really important: increasing the diffusion of water culture through the comparison between international champions with a high performance level that attracts the audience attention; showing the most spectacular aspect of swimming organizing playful and social activities that involve the champions most followed by the audience.
Several champions will participate in the International Swimming competition, within the suggestive context of Stadio del Nuoto inside Foro Italico. Among them the Olympic and World champions such as the British breaststroke swimmer Adam Peaty, the Australian freestyle swimmer Mack Horton, the Brazilian sprinter Cesar Cielo, the Dutch sprinter Ranomi Kromowidjojo, the Australian super sprinter James Magnussen, the Korean Park Tae-hwan, the Hungarian Laszslo Cseh and the butterfly swimmer Chad Le Clos.
The Italian team will be composed by 26 athletes among which the Olympic and leader in 1500m Gregorio Paltrinieri, the Queen of the Italian swimming and Olympic standard-bearer Federica Pellegrini, the Olympic bronze in 400m and 1500m Gabriele Detti, the leader and twice World champion and three times European champion Filippo Magnini and the European champion in 100m-freestyle Luca Dotto.
The three days of meeting, born in 1963, will be live broadcasted on Raidue and Rai Sport +HD channels (Friday on Raidue at 6.50pm-8.30pm; Saturday on Raidue at 6.10pm-7.30pm, Rai Sport + HD at 7.30pm-8.30pm; Sunday on Rai Sport + HD at 6.30pm-8.30pm). The news of this year will be the presence of Gruppo Roma Radio that will follow the event live-broadcasting from Stadio del Nuoto on Rete Sport 104.2, Radio Sei 98.100, Roma Radio Capitale 93.00. The importance of this event, organized by Federazione Italiana Nuoto with CONI, is also proved by the presence and support of leader companies, such as Arena, UnipolSai, Herbalife, Kinder + Sport, Acqua Uliveto.
