MARGHERITA PANZIERA
She was born in Montebelluna on 12th August 1995. She is trained in Rome by Gianluca Belfiore. She shines at the Mediterranean Games in 2013 conquering three medals: gold in 4x100m-mixed relay, silver in 200m-backstroke and bronze in 100m-backstroke. At the European Championships in short course in Copenhagen 2017, conquers the third place in 200m-backstroke setting the Italian record with 2’02”43. The following year at the Mediterranean Games in Terragona, she wins four gold medals: in 100m-backstroke, improving the competition record, in 200m-backstroke and in 4x200m-freestyle and 4x100m-medley relays. At the Italian Absolute Championships 2018, the Venetian athlete improves her performance breaking the wall of the minute with 59"96 (the first Italian athlete of the history) in medley relay of CC Aniene. At the European Championships in Glasgow, she shines in 200m-backstroke setting the Italian record with 2'06"18. She ranks third in 4x100m-medley relay. The last April at the Absolute Championships, Panziera sets the National record in 200m-backstroke with 2'05"72, shining also in 100m-backstroke. Graduated in economics, she has one of the most joyful smile of World swimming.

ADAM PEATY
The World breaststroke bears his name. He was born in Uttoxeter on 28th December 1994. It is said that he was afraid of water when he was a child. He is trained in Derby by the ex-swimmer Melanie Marshall. His International debut is at the Youth European Championships in Anversa 2012. Since 2014, he starts to collect medals, first at the British National Championships, then at the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow. At the European Championships in Berlin, he wins in 50m-breaststroke, setting the World record with 26’’62, and in 100m-breaststroke. He is the first man breaking the limit of 58" in 100m-breaststroke at the British National Championships 2015, shining with 57"92. Three months later he conquers three gold medals at the World Championships in Kazan: in 50m-breaststroke (World record in semifinal with 26’’42), in 100m-breaststroke and in 4x100m-mixed medley. At the Olympic Games in Rio 2016, he wins in 100m breaking twice the World record. In Budapest 2017, he wins in 50m and 100m-breaststroke, setting the record in 50m semifinal with 25’’95. At the European Championships in Glasgow, he wins both the distances, setting the 100m-breaststroke limit with 57”10. The British golden boy has a passion for sport cars and tattoos, as the lion tattooed on his left shoulder.

FEDERICA PELLEGRINI
She is the Italian swimming icon, a true legend. She was born in Mirano on 5th August 1988, grews in Spinea, lives in Verona. She loves swimming at first sight. She conquers the Olympic gold in Beijing 2008 setting the World record with 1’54”82. But at the age of 16 years and twelve days she becomes the youngest Italian athlete to get on the Olympic individual podium winning the silver in 200m-freestyle in Athens 2004. She wins more than 50 International medals including two Olympic medals, 10 World and 15 European medals in long course; 8 World and 15 European medals in short course, and 11 World records. First and unique athlete to sign two double consecutive World victories in 200m and 400m-freestyle in Rome 2009 and Shanghai 2011. Winning the historic gold in 200m-freestyle at the World Championships in Budapest 2017, ahead the American Katie Ledecky, she is the unique swimmer on the Olympic podium of the distance for seven consecutive editions. In London 2016, she is still the queen in 200m-freestyle winning the fourth European title since Budapest 2010. The years and rivals pass but Fede, focusing on the Olympic Games in Tokyo 2020, is always there. She loves passing time with her family and Vanessa, a French bulldog puppy that is always with her. She is trained by Matteo Giunta at the Federal Centre in Verona after having linked part of her carrier to the Master Alberto Castagnetti.

SIMONA QUADARELLA
She was born in Rome on 18th December 1998. She loves the swimming pool since she was a little child. She starts swimming at agonistic level at the age of eight years. Trained by the technician Christian Minotti, since 2012 to 2015 she wins at the Youth Italian Championships and since 2014 she shines also at the Absolute Championships. 2017 is the consecration year among the "great stars" of swimming: bronze medal in 1500m-freestyle at the World Championships in Budapest, first place in 800m and 1500m-freestyle at the Universiadi and third place at the European Championships in short course in Copenhagen. At the European Championships in Glasgow 2018 she wins three gold medals in 400m, 800m and 1500m-freestyle, setting the Italian record in 800m with 8’16”45. In December she participates in the World Championships in short course in Hangzhou, confirming herself as one of the best middle-distance race swimmer in the world, winning the silver in 800m-freestyle. She takes care of several social problems and, when she can, she loves passing her time at the sea.

MATTEO RESTIVO
He was born in Udine on 4th November 1994. He grews in Unione Nuoto Friuli and he moves to Florence in 2014 for study reasons. Here he is a member of Carabinieri Sport Team and Florentia Nuoto Club. The athlete, trained by Paolo Palchetti, shines at the Spring Italian Absolute Championships 2017 in 200m-backstroke with 1’56”55, Italian record allowing him to participate in the World Championships in long course in Budapest as a member of Italian Team. At the European Championships in Glasgow 2018, he wins the bronze medal in 200m-backstroke, setting the Italian record with 1’56”29, behind the Russian Jevgenij Rylov and the Polish Radosław Kawęcki, and in 4x100m-medley relay. At the recent Absolute Championships in Riccione he swims in 200m-backstroke in 1’56’’45, his second personal performance, dedicating his victory to his dear friend passed away few days before. He studies medical science. His swimmer and University friends call him "Whisker" and "Atomic ant".

ROLAND SCHOEMAN
He was born in Pretoria, South Africa, on 3rd July 1980. For several years he was one of the speed leaders both in freestyle and butterfly. At the Olympic Games in Athens 2004, he conquers the gold medal in 4x100m-freestyle relay, the silver in 100m-freestyle and the bronze in 50m-freestyle. The following year, at the World Championships in Montreal 2005, he becomes champion in 50m-freestyle and 50m-butterfly, and in 100m is behind Filippo Magnino, who conquers the first historic Italian gold in the queen race, then confirmed at the World Championships in Melbourne two years later. The same result for Schoeman in 50m-butterfly. The South African swimmer wins his first International medal at the World Championships in Fukuoka 2001, where our Massimiliano Rosolino, Domenico Fioravanti, Alessio Boggiatto and Emiliano Brembilla shined. Schoeman held the World records in 50m-butterfly in long course, in 50m and 100m-freestyle and in 100m-medley in short course. He focuses on the Olympic Games in Tokyo that he will reach at the age of 40 years.
