Today it’s day number 3 at the Women’s European Under 19 Waterpolo Championships, hosted by the Centro Federale di Ostia.
Today the young Setterosa team trained by Paolo Zizza is not scheduled to play, since already qualified, as well as Holland, to the quarter finals on schedule Thursday (whereas Italy’s game is on schedule at 19.00, after Ukraine was defeated yesterday evening 17 to 4).
The Setterosa team is in great shape and Arianna Gragnolati, who scored other 4 goals, after the 9 goals she had scored against Switzerland, is really performing well, reaching the top of the goal-scorer classification with a total amount of 13 goals.
Though she is followed by the Dutch player Rozeboom, who scored 9, she is likely to stay alone at the top of the goal-scorer classification, even though she played a game less.
In the first game on schedule Ukraine won very easily against Switzerland 15 to 2. Easy victory also for the Spaniards, who got rid of Serbia by manifestly winning 21 to 1. Remarkable are also the performances by the Spanish players Gaul, Cordobes, Ortiz, Forca and Tazueco, who all scored three goals each. Russia dominated against Turkey (36-1) in the game scheduled at 14.30. Gerzanich scored 6 goals and Kravchenko 5. Hungary, led by Brigitta Horvath, who scored 8 goals, defeated Israel (26-0) and Greek also did the same against Portugal (28-3) and obtained the first position at the top of group B, reaching Russia, Italy and Holland in the quarter finals. The most uncertain game was the one between Slovakia and Great Britain, with the latter who won 10 to 7.
