Olympic Qualification Tournament. Hungary-Israel opens on Tuesday

It will be Hungary-Israel on Tuesday, January 19, at 2 pm, to open the pre-Olympic tournament in Trieste that will award the last two passes for the Tokyo Games.
Overall, at the federal center "Bruno Bianchi" from January 19 to 24 will face eight nations, after the waivers of Uzbekistan and New Zealand, divided into two groups of four. Italy, Netherlands, France and Slovakia are in group A, while Hungary, Greece, Israel and Kazakhstan are in group B. The tournament format provides for a first Italian-style phase with one-way matches until January 21; on the 22nd the quarter-finals, the following day the decisive semifinals and on the 24th the finals.Already qualified for the Tokyo Olympics are the United States (gold at the World League), winners of the last two editions and always on the podium in previous events (women's water polo introduced in 2000), Spain (silver medalist at the World Championships won by the United States), Russia (silver medalist at the European Championships won by Spain) holder of the bronze medal, Canada (silver medalist at the Pan American Games won by the USA), Australia (Oceania), China (Asia), South Africa (Africa) and Japan (host country).
