The countdown has begun and Italy's team is now complete. In less than two months, from 27 to 29 July, the Youth European Lifesaving Championships will take place at the Stadio del Nuoto in Rome, the "most beautiful swimming pool in the world", which previously hosted the 1994 and 2009 World Championships as well as the 1983 and 2022 European Swimming Championships.
The national team was finalised following the Italian Senior and Junior Championships and is now set to begin its preparation for the pool events. The ocean and beach competitions are scheduled to take place in Ireland from 3 to 6 September.
The athletes selected for the 2026 European Youth Lifesaving Championships are 12: Agata Binelli (DDS Camaiore), Nicole Carzacchi (Pol. Polivalente Maranello), Carlotta Formillo (IN Sport), Greta Gazzera (Aquaclub), Erica Giuliani (Accademia di Salvamento) and Viola Marsella (Olgiata 20.12); Alessio Cesana (IN Sport), Fabrizio Falanga (Gym Flower), Antonio Garofalo (Caravaggio Sporting Village Aqua & Fitness), Vittorio Lanfrit (Sporting Club Noale), Alessio Petracca and Andrea Vacchelli (IN Sport).
The staff includes Technical Director Massimiliano Tramontana, Youth National Team Head Coach Marina Gratton, Coach Roberto Vicinanza, Team Doctor Andrea Felici and Physiotherapist Sofia Miniati.
