Heats day 5. Poland in the spotlight. Popovici first in 50 freestyle

Fifth day of the 47th European Junior Championships at the Stadio del Nuoto in Rome.
Morning session starts with 100m breaststroke, in which Eneli Jefimova (Est), silver in double distance, swims the fastest time in 1'08"92. Second time for russian Elena Bogomolova, bronze in 200m, in 1'09"28. 
David Popovici (Rou), after setting WJR in 100m and 200m freestyle, aims for the shortest distance too and gets the first time in 50m in 22"37.
In women's 50m freestyle Russian Daria Tatarinova, silver in double distance, is the fastest in 25"23.
In men's 200m butterfly, polish twins Krzysztof and Michal Chmielewski qualify to semifinals with the first and the second time, respectively in 1'56"23 and 1'56"66. Third time for their teammate Jan Zubik in 1'58"15. 
Masiuk Ksawery (Pol), gold medalist in 100m and silver in 50m backstroke, gets the first time in 200m by 2'01"27.
In women's 200m backstroke Laura Bernat (Pol) is the fastest in 2'12"28. Behind her Katie Shanahan (Gbr), gold in 200m and 400m individual medley and bronze in 100m backstroke, by 2'13"92 and italian Erika Gaetani, gold in 100m backstroke, by 2'15"41.
Bosnian Lana Pudar, silver in 200m butterfly, swims the first time in 100m by 58"76. Second time for Anastasiia Markova (Rus), gold in double distance, in 59"19.
In women's 4x100 relay, french team composed by Mary-Ambre Moluh, Mathilde Pruvot, Giulia Rossi Bene and Lucie Vasquez, qualifies to afternoon session with the first time in 3'45"73.
Last scheduled heat is men's 800m freestyle, in which turkish Yigit Aslan, bronze in 1500m, is the fastest in 7'57"69. Behind him italian Lorenzo Galossi, bronze in 4x200m, and Mert Kilavuz (Tur), gold medalist in 1500m.
