Open Water Events will be held on the beach/sea in front of Principe di Piemonte - Congress Centre. The competition zone on the beach can be up to 500 m wide x 150 m deep = 7,500 m² and can even be expanded if necessary. The main Beach as well as the adjacent beaches will be at the disposal of the competitors to train and warm-up.

Pool events will be held in the "Simone Camalich" swimming pools complex, situated in Livorno (Via Salvador Allende), 52 km from Viareggio.

CONGRESS AND EXHIBITION DURING RESCUE 2004
In order to promote lifesaving and water rescue and to create an awareness programme, the Italian Swimming Federation - Lifesaving Section (FIN-S) will organise a World Congress of two days as well as an Equipment Exhibition of four days.
WORLD CONGRESS
The World Congress will be organised on Sunday 12 and Monday 13 September 2004. It could possibly be shifted to Saturday 11 and Sunday 12 September to attract more local participants who are free during the week-end. The dates are still to be confirmed.
The Congress will take place in the Puccini room of the Congress Centre of Principe di Piemonte.
WATER SAFETY EXHIBITION
The Water Safety Exhibition will take place in the Tobino room of the Congress Centre of Principe di Piemonte as well as outside the Congress Centre where boats, crafts and more heavy equipment will be showed.
